Aviezer Halevi Levin

Aviezer Halevi Levin

Born in Jerusalem on the 4th of Adar, 5708
Fell in the Golan Heights, south of Kunetra on the 12th of Shevat, 5729

Aviezer, the son of Yitzchak and Ahuva, received his education at the Ma'aleh elementary school and the Yeshiva High School Netiv Meir. Later, he continued his studies at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh for a year, all while being active in the nucleus Shalhevet of Ezra.

In the year 5726, he was drafted into the IDF, finished an officers course, and joined the Golani brigade. His traits of love of Torah, modesty and dedication guided him in each and every step of his life. When learning, he felt it most important to delve deeply into the details. Similarly in his military service, he worried over each and every one of the soldiers under his command.

His commander described him as someone who "everyone knew and everyone loved." His rabbi, the Rosh Yeshiva of Netiv Meir, Harav Aryeh Bina, zt'l, said that "he fell in the midst of a wonderful military operation and sacrificed himself for the Nation and the Land."

May His Memory Be Blessed
