The Overseas program spent the Shabbat before Shavuot in the holy and mystical city of Tzfat with Rosh Hayeshiva Rav Greenberg, Rav Blachman, and Yeshiva Director Rav Katz. The talmidim spent leil Shabbat with the Yeshivat Hesder in Tzfat. In addition, Shabbat was preceded by a tour of Akko, also a significant city in the history of Israel and in the Modern Zionist movement, in particular. This city was once a northern border of Jewish settlement in Israel, as related to our studies of Massechet Gittin, as well as a home in the Middle Ages to Ba’alei Tosafot and Ramban in the 13^th century. A more modern highlight is the breathtaking mosaic Tunisian synagogue.
