The talmidim took a break for a tiyul and Shabbaton on Parshat Toldot in Har Bracha, where they joined with the first year- talmidim from Kerem B'Yavneh's Israeli hesder program.  Accompanied by Rav Dovid Mintz, and hesder ramim Rav Yitzchak Levy and Rav Ahron Friedman, and their families, the Shabbat afforded a special opportunity for the Overseas students to build personal ties to Kerem B’Yavneh’s Israeli students.  There were a number of highlights over the weekend.  Before Shabbat, the students visited Itamar and Shilo, the ancient site of the Mishkan. On leil Shabbat, they were treated to an oneg with Rav Eliezer Melamed, author of the popular Peninei Halacha series; and they also met with Rav Avi Chermon (formerly Herman), a former member of the Kerem B’Yavneh kollel.
