In Memory of our Fallen Soldiers
Dov Atinger
Born on the 27th of Adar, 5708 in Ramat Gan
Fell on the 12th of MarCheshvan, 5730, in the Hermon Mountains
Dov, the son of Avraham and Leah, began his studies at Yeshivat Tel Aviv and Yeshivat HaYishuv HaChadash, continued at Yeshivat Marom Tzion in Jerusalem and enriched his spiritual world at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh.
He was a member of the youth group Ezra where, as in every place, he stood out and became a central figure.
He was drafted into the IDF in the summer of 5727, in the framework of the Nachshol group of Ezra, later serving in the paratroops, and finished an officers' course with honors. He put all his energy into his job, and his treatment and concern for the soldiers under his command with warmth and kindness, yet with discipline, became famous.
His most noticeable traits, according to his friends, were his zeal for honesty and the truth, and his hatred of hypocrisy. "A special and valuable boy, Dov Etinger, h'yd, was blessed with talent and amazing behavior, and my heart is full of misery over the loss of a talmid chacham in the midst of his development" - the words of the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Harav Onterman, zt"l.
May His Memory Be Blessed
